A while back I did a video showing how to apply the Foxx Electronics tempered glass screen protector and initial impressions. Now it’s time for the full review!
It’s been over a month now since I have started using this glass screen protector and I have to say this is one of the best screen protectors I have ever used. Why? Pretty much for all the reasons I mentioned in my first impressions post.
Glass is king
Having glass as your screen protector is one of the best materials to use. Not only does it provide that “nothings there” feel with how smooth it is, it also doesn’t bunch up and peel off like it’s plastic counterparts. Also, the properties of glass make it much more resistant to scratches because it’s a harder material. I have accidentally kept my keys and my phone in the same pocket a few times since applying this protector and do not see any visible scratches or wear on the screen!
This protector has also stayed put better than any previous protector I have used. Where plastic protectors would bunch up or slide on the screen due to my phone case, this has stayed solidly in place. This also means that the edges aren’t being pulled up and getting dust under them leading to that inevitable old ripped pages look that I have had myself in the past and see many people put up with on their phones. I have even dropped my phone a few times and the glass has kept itself completely adhered.
There is only one downside that I can think of, and that being glass, it does has a barely noticeable thickness(more than plastic protectors). This isn’t an issue depending on your phone case and it is still lower than the sides of my slim case so it won’t be the first thing to touch when my phone is laid face down on any surface. I list this as a con because I am sure there are cases out there where this may be a problem. However, the extra depth added to the home button on my iPhone is actually a very welcome addition. This adds a very tactile point so I can easily orient my phone in low light settings which is a great.
Don’t settle for anything less than glass, it’s THE best screen protector type I have ever used so far. It may be a little more expensive than some of the plastic variants out there but it’s worth every penny. As it has held up so well without any issues, I plan on continuing to use glass as my screen protector of choice for the future. Given that manufactures can use different adhesives and qualities, I am very impressed with Foxx Electronics. I would recommend them to anyone looking to upgrade their screen protector as well as protect their mobile device.
