Decorating for Christmas as a Minimalist

When I tell people I’m a Minimalist, they tend to assume I don’t have anything to sit on in my house and that it’s stark and sterile. While I don’t really have comfortable things to sit on, I do have a couch and chairs. I also decorate my home, to the surprise of some, seasonally. While my definition of decorating seasonally may differ from the techniques of many, I do still like to celebrate the changing of the seasons. How To Utilize Wish Lists

It’s a little hard to believe that the end of 2016 and the holidays are well on their way. Our 2015 Christmas Tree

This year was an interesting one for us, in terms of the holiday season. This post is supposed to go up before Christmas, but it just didn’t happen. Lately I’ve been feeling unhappy in my surroundings, which typically means we have too many possessions. Continue reading “Our 2015 Christmas Tree”

Nemours Mansion and Gardens in Wilmington, DE

For the holidays we took a little visit with some family to one of the Dupont mansions. The home is supposedly furnished the way it was left, and decked out for Christmas with a tree in every room. Christmas Village in Philadelphia

We’ve been to Philadelphia several times, but were never able to visit the annual Christmas Village. This year, we did! Continue reading “Christmas Village in Philadelphia”

Photo Journal: Longwood Gardens

The holidays have somewhat escaped us this year. Although we decorated, things seem different. We aren’t as excited this year and the season seems empty. In an effort to re-kindle our eagerness, we met up with some family to tour Longwood Gardens. Continue reading “Photo Journal: Longwood Gardens”
